Wyndham Timeshare Trial
Below is one owner’s experience with the Wyndham timeshare trial vacation that was submitted through our website.
In 2013 we were scammed in to purchasing the one year trial vacation with Wyndham while in Vegas. It cost us $3,000. We realized after 24 hrs we wanted to cancel, but read it wasn’t possible. No phone numbers are indicated in the brochures, or on the papers we signed. There was NO ONE TO CONTACT in any way, shape or form.
When we signed up for the trial, the salesperson stated we could begin payment by June 2014. We never used the one year trial– AT ALL! We, unfortunately, began to make payments about 5 or 6 months ago, thinking it’ll ruin our credit, etc. This is ridiculous.
We are already tight, and it hurts me to continue making payments to something we never really wanted, NEVER USED (also they said if we didn’t use the one year trial, it’ll be expired?) will this affect our credit score? Because we are planning to keep our credit score good. Just in case by the end of this year we are planning to maybe start a business. Can we just stop making payments? We’ve already sent payments using checks in the past 5 months. Help!
In our experience hearing 1000’s of timeshare stores over the years, we have found that the timeshare trial vacations are simply not worth it. For the same amount of money you would spend on the timeshare trial, you could buy a nice timeshare on the resale market. If you want to just “try before you buy” and stay at one of the resorts, you can rent the unit for a week for substantially less than what you would spend for any trial program – this is true of Wyndham and all the other timeshare vacation systems.
This doesn’t really asnwer the question though, does it. Is there a way for them or anyone to get out of the trial and get their money back?
